Combining TRIZ and Generative AI Effectively:

This live online course shows you how to address technical challenges systematically with TRIZ and use generative AI in a targeted way as support in problem-solving and innovation processes.

You will learn how to analyze technical systems more precisely, identify contradictions methodically, develop solution directions more soundly, and use AI in a way that does not replace your work but rather accelerates and expands it in a structured manner. The course combines the proven logic of TRIZ with the new possibilities of generative AI to create a practical working approach for technical tasks.

Course Structure & Learning Format:

The training is divided into two live online blocks of three half-days each. This gives you the opportunity to learn the content in a compact format, apply it directly in practice, and reflect further between the course parts.

  • Part 1 of 2: Introduction to the thinking logic of TRIZ, key analysis tools, and structured collaboration with generative AI
  • Part 2 of 2: Deepening contradiction solving, creativity techniques, and methodological AI support in the technical innovation process
  • Working format: Live input, collaborative development, group exercises, and practical application on the Miro board

The course is designed so that theory and application are closely integrated. You will not only work with the methods, but also experience directly how TRIZ and generative AI complement each other in everyday technical work.

What You Will Learn Professionally:

TRIZ as a structured method for technical problems:

  • History of TRIZ and the basic principles of methodological innovation
  • Ideality and resource analysis
  • 9-Window Thinking (System Operator)
  • TRIZ function analysis for products
  • Cause-and-effect analysis
  • Trimming
  • Effects databases
  • 40 inventive principles
  • Technical contradiction and contradiction matrix
  • Physical contradiction and separation principles
  • Main Parameters of Value (MPV)
  • Introduction to Substance-Field Analysis and the 76 Standard Solutions
  • Introduction to S-Curve Analysis and trends of technological evolution

Generative AI as methodological support:

  • Basic principles of structured collaboration with generative AI
  • Support for analysis, function modeling, contradiction solving, and idea generation through large language models
  • Targeted use of prompts for methodological guidance instead of unsystematic querying
  • Practical exercises for technical problem-solving and innovation tasks

Why This Combination Is So Valuable:

TRIZ provides methodological depth. Generative AI increases speed, broadens perspectives, and helps structure thinking processes more clearly. In this course, you therefore learn not only TRIZ and not only AI, but the meaningful combination of both approaches.

This creates a way of working that is especially useful when technical problems are complex, trade-offs become visible, familiar lines of thinking no longer lead further, or innovative solution directions need to be developed systematically.

TRIZ Is More Broadly Applicable Than Many Think:

TRIZ is often associated with engineering and design. That is where the method has its roots, and that is where it shows its greatest strength. At the same time, the underlying principles of thinking are far more universal. Wherever contradictions need to be identified, resources used, and systematically better solutions developed, TRIZ can make valuable contributions.

This also applies to adjacent industrial fields such as quality management, complaint analysis, root cause analysis, and process improvement. Even in general business contexts, TRIZ can help formulate tensions more clearly and solve them in a more structured way. However, this training deliberately focuses on the technical application of TRIZ and on its combination with generative AI within this context.

Target Group:

The course is aimed primarily at engineers, developers, designers, technical project managers, innovation managers, as well as technical specialists and managers who want to improve products, systems, or processes more systematically.

In addition, the course is also relevant for professionals in quality management, technical problem analysis, complaint handling, and process improvement when their work has a clear connection to technical systems, industrial processes, or product-related challenges.

Certification:

After the course, two online exams are taken for the following internationally recognized certificates, issued according to the globally valid MATRIZ Official standard:

  • AI-TRIZ Certificate
This exam takes place after the first part of the course and certifies knowledge of using generative AI in combination with TRIZ.
  • TRIZ Level 1 Certificate
This exam takes place after the second part of the course and certifies understanding of the core TRIZ fundamentals in accordance with the MATRIZ Official Level 1 standard.

Participation & Technical Requirements:

  • Delivered as live online training using MS Teams and Miro
  • You will need an internet-capable computer, camera, microphone, and a stable connection
  • Exercises and collaboration take place digitally in a practical, browser-based environment

Your Trainer:

Dr. Robert Adunka has been teaching TRIZ for many years in education, training, and practical application. As a certified MATRIZ trainer and experienced user of generative AI, he combines methodological depth with direct practical applicability for technical challenges in day-to-day business.

One of the best seminars I have ever attended! I am absolutely thrilled with the TRIZ method and can only recommend this seminar.

In my professional life, I have encountered many development trends and a large number of different methods and techniques, some of which I have also implemented in companies. Until I took my first TRIZ course, I was not fully aware that it is possible to increase creativity in a targeted manner, boost development output, and reduce costs at the same time using simple means.

Dr. Adunka knows how to teach Altschuler’s methodology in a plausible way and to train efficiently using practical examples. In doing so, he succeeds in inspiring the course participants and conveying a genuine enjoyment of implementation. The ability to break away from preconceived solutions, to abstract tasks, and to define alternative solutions where less is usually more was a valuable insight I took away from the course.

I particularly liked the lively and practical training with lots of examples and exercises with an “aha” effect. The particular relevance and high usefulness of the training for everyday professional life should also be emphasized.

The background and content are conveyed clearly and very comprehensibly. When asked if it was worth it, I say: Definitely! I will recommend Mr. Adunka to others.
