New paper on ResearchGate: MPV Discovery

Together with Dr. Simon Litvin, I have published a white paper on MPV Discovery: MPV stands for Main Parameters of Value. These are key attributes of a product or service that have a major influence on purchasing decisions. MPVs integrate the voice of the product and the voice of the customer into a single process and provide a clear algorithm for the transition from value discovery to technical solutions, prototypes, and business evaluation.

MPV Discovery is now part of the MATRIZ Level 1 curriculum. Our text explains the MPV Discovery process in 14 steps, from a market challenge to solvable technical problems and finally to new product concepts. Four practical examples illustrate each of the steps and show how MPV Discovery works for consumer goods, electromechanical devices, digital platforms, and simple mechanical systems.

The focus is on applicability rather than complete academic coverage. We want to support practitioners in applying MPV Discovery in real-world innovation projects. Our text assumes basic knowledge of TRIZ (MATRIZ Official Level 1 or comparable).

The text was developed with the support of generative AI and is intended both as a practical guide to MPV Discovery and as a contextual reference for the application of generative AI within this process.
